When chef/owner William Belickis closed down his restaurant Mistral in Belltown in 2008 there was a lot of disappointment in the air. But have no fear, he has now opened Mistral Kitchen in Downtown Seattle in the new West 8th Building.
This brand new 100 seat restaurant is quite a site to see! And it is composed of many different nooks and areas that allow the diners to pick how they want to enjoy their time while at Mistral Kitchen. There is a main dining room, a cocktail bar, a jewel box (which is soundproofed for privacy), the chef's table (located in the main kitchen), and a upstairs lounge.
The food prepared at Mistral is also getting the star treatment. With a wood-fire oven imported from Naples, a Tandori oven, a separate pastry kitchen, and several other specialty kitchens, most of which are in view of diners.
But none of this would matter without a team of culinary geniuses. Who did Chef Belickis get? Himself of course! Along with him will be famed sushi chef Yutaka Saito, Juan Lizarraras, Skye Swett, who worked with Belickis at Mistral, among others.
We are looking forward to checking it out in the new year! And you should too.
